To the members of the Saint Finbar Church community:

In collaboration with Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Saint Finbar Church will be hosting a food pantry at the Holy Spirit Center beginning this Sunday and through the end of the year. The hours of operation are Sundays from 8am – 1pm and on Wednesdays from 9am – 4pm.

For more information, please contact Carina Alvarado from Catholic Charities at: (213) 251-3568. There are requirements to receive assistance through the food pantry. Assistance forms can be found through this link. Requirements include proof of identification, proof of income qualification and proof of residency in our local area. Again, assistance forms can be found through this link. The application forms must be completed before assistance can be provided.

As Father Francis frequently says, “At Saint Finbar Church, we journey together and not alone.” Our collaboration with Catholic Charities to host a food pantry at Saint Finbar Church is intended to address the needs of families in our community and our greater community that may be suffering from food insecurity at this time.

Earlier this month we commenced Confirmation classes to continue the faith education of our community’s teens. Yesterday we started Faith Formation classes for our community’s children in grades 1 – 8. Today we are announcing the opening of a food bank at the Holy Spirit Center in collaboration with Catholic Charities of Los Angeles to help meet the needs of families in our area who are food insecure at this time.

No matter today’s challenging circumstances, at Saint Finbar Church we remain steadfast in our mission to serve God through service to His children of all ages. We are grateful to the staff at the San Fernando Region of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles for providing us with this opportunity to further our mission of service to God’s children and witness to the mercy of God at this very challenging time.
