Our God is a God of COMPASSION. The word COMPASSION comes from 2 latin words: “com” meaning “with”, and “passio” meaning “to suffer”. God’s love is expressed in COMPASSION, the ability to “suffer with” us, the ability to enter our suffering and pain. It is in the suffering where we encounter the love of God most powerfully. God does not abandon us in our pain, but through COMPASSION, He enters into that darkness to remind us that we are not alone and that we belong to Him as beloved children. As we receive the COMPASSIONATE love of God through the Sacred Heart of Jesus, may we show COMPASSION to one another and those in the world who are most in need.
